Swell review
Review invites, surveys and webchat for healthcare practices, priced per location by quote.
Written by the team at FiveStariz, who sell a competing product. Every number here was read on swellcx.com on 18 October 2026. We say where they beat us.
| Price | No published price |
| Best for | A dental or medical group that wants patient surveys and review invites tied to the practice software. |
| Not for | A single practice that wants to see the price before booking a demo. |
Their pricing page says only that products are "Priced per location". Multi product and multi location discounts are mentioned without figures. Prices change, so check swellcx.com before you decide.
What Swell actually does
- Review invites triggered by appointment or transaction status, not by how happy someone is.
- Patient experience and employee feedback surveys as separate products.
- A webchat widget, and a Healthgrades connection.
- Every option includes unlimited users, 3,000 texts a month and unlimited email.
- 30 minutes of setup and onboarding included, with no fee stated.
What Swell does well
- They publish a piece called "Why Review Gating Is a Bad Strategy for Growth" and take the same line we do.
- Requests fire on appointment status, which is the right trigger for a clinic.
- Unlimited users and 3,000 texts a month on every option is generous.
- Patient and staff survey products are real things we do not build.
- Practice software integration is deeper than ours for healthcare.
Where it falls short
- No price at all. The only pricing statement is "Priced per location".
- A "Try for Free" button with no trial length or terms published.
- Contract terms are not stated anywhere.
- No count of the review sites they read. Only Google, Facebook and Healthgrades are named.
Swell and FiveStariz
We make a competing product, so read this with that in mind. Our pricing page has our side of it, in full.
Swell, answered
How much does Swell cost?
They do not publish a price. We read their pricing page on 18 October 2026. It lists 3 products, each with a "Schedule Now" button, and says only that they are priced per location. Their FAQ mentions multi location and multi product discounts without giving figures.
Does Swell do review gating?
No, and they argue against it in public. Their own article says review gating is frowned on by the platforms, and that Google penalises it. Their invites trigger on appointment status rather than on satisfaction, which is the right way round.
What is a Swell alternative for a single practice?
We are $19 a month with the price on the page, and we have a healthcare mode that keeps the treatment out of the message. We do not do patient surveys or webchat, so a group that wants those should talk to Swell.
Want the asking done for less?
FiveStariz is $19 a month, the price is on the page, and there is no setup fee.
