HiFiveStar review
Review request software for local businesses, with drafted replies and video testimonials on top.
Written by the team at FiveStariz, who sell a competing product. Every number here was read on hifivestar.com on 18 October 2026. We say where they beat us.
| Price | $39 a month |
| Best for | A business that wants replies drafted for them, and video testimonials in the same tool. |
| Not for | An agency on a budget, or anyone who wants every customer to see the review buttons. |
Their cheapest paid plan, month to month, or $28 a month paid yearly. Their page shows the yearly price first. Prices change, so check hifivestar.com before you decide.
What HiFiveStar actually does
- Review requests by text, email and WhatsApp, with a review page and a QR code.
- Replies drafted for every review, which you check and can post to Google from their app.
- Video testimonials, which we do not collect.
- They file your US texting paperwork with the carriers for you.
- Their help centre says they show 40 review sites and connect 35. Reviews are read from 9 of them. The other 26 are buttons that send a customer to that site and nothing comes back.

What HiFiveStar does well
- Drafted replies, posted to Google from their own app. We do neither, on purpose.
- Video testimonials are a real product we do not have.
- They handle the US texting registration for you, which is a genuine chore.
- They publish every plan price, which half this market will not do.
- They have been doing this longer than we have and the product shows it.
Where it falls short
- The free plan cannot send a review request. Their own table marks email, text and WhatsApp asks as not included on it.
- Their review page can ask for a star rating first and show the review buttons after. That is review gating.
- Your own brand on the review page starts at $249 a month. Ours starts at $5 a location.
- Reviews are read from 9 sites, not the 40 the marketing counts.
- How often each site is read is fixed, from every hour for Facebook down to once a month for HomeAdvisor, with no way to read them again now.
HiFiveStar and FiveStariz
We make a competing product, so read this with that in mind. The comparison page has the long version, including the parts where they win.
HiFiveStar, answered
How much does HiFiveStar cost?
Their cheapest paid plan is $39 a month, or $28 a month if you pay for a year. Plans run up to $899 a month for any number of locations. We read every figure on their own pricing page on 18 October 2026. There is a free plan, but it cannot send review requests.
Does HiFiveStar do review gating?
Their own help centre documents a setting that asks for a star rating first and shows the review buttons afterwards. Google's policy says a business may not "selectively solicit positive reviews from customers". We never built that and never will.
How many review sites does HiFiveStar read?
Nine. Google, Facebook, Tripadvisor, Thumbtack, Indeed, Glassdoor, Yelp, Zillow and HomeAdvisor. The 40 in their marketing counts buttons that send a customer to a site, not reviews read back. Their own help page says the other 26 are links only.
What is the best HiFiveStar alternative?
We would say us, and we are not neutral. We are $19 a month against their $39, our free plan does send email requests, and we read 17 sites. They draft replies and collect video, and we do neither. Our full comparison lists both sides.
Want the asking done for less?
FiveStariz is $19 a month, the price is on the page, and there is no setup fee.
